1290 Chihli Earthquake
It all began on September 12, 1290. It was a peaceful day when PSHHHHHHH!!! An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.8 on the richter scale hit the cities: Ningcheng, Changping, Hejian, Renqiu, Xiongxian, Boading, Yixian, and Baixiang. This devastating event killed more than 100,000 people. Because of that enormous death toll, it was ranked the 12th deadliest earthquake of history.
