1920 Haiyuan Earthquake
The 4th deadliest earthquake of all time, on December 16th, 1920, the Haiyuan earthquake struck. With a magnitude of 7.8 to 8.5 on the Richter scale, around 273,400 people died. There were aftershocks for more than 3 years following this earthquake. It was named the Haiyuan earthquake because that was where the epicenter was. That was also where there were the most casualties. Some rivers were damned, others went off course, either way, it is a memory tat will haunt the survivors forever!
